New Mascots Unveiled

Recently, our mascot bears were named in a ceremony by the Lord Mayor of Chester. Meet Chester and Roger.

The Lord Mayor graced us with her presence for Sign Language Week.  She also named our bears – Chester (Chester was the most popular name)– is the larger one and Roger (Roger was chosen out of a hat) – is the travelling bear.

Roger was not only a member of the deaf community who played a huge part in transforming the Deaf Club when it was first purchased back in the 70’s, but he also played a big part in the choir. Roger sadly passed away 7/8 years ago, so having the bear named after him, is just a wonderful tribute to a truly lovely gentleman.
