On Saturday 15th March 2025 we were honoured to host the Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Razia Daniels, to our weekly practice session at the Deaf Centre in Chester.

She was very keen to visit ahead of Sign Language Awareness Week as she had seen the Choir performing on several occasions.  She was impressed by the hard work and dedication of the choir members in practising and perfecting the wide catalogue of songs, acknowledging the fact that the Choir is made up entirely of volunteers, a key focus for her mayorship.

We do think we may have a new member!  She learnt My Girl, and practised it for the first time, brilliantly!

Watch her first performance here!

The Choir wishes to extend our thanks for her visit and spotlighting the work we do to raise Deaf Awareness and Fundraising for Chester and District Committee for Deaf People.
